Definition

A torus/buckle injury of the distal fibular metaphysis is due to cortical failure in compression and is, therefore, minimally displaced and stable.

These fractures are classified as 43f-M/2.1.

Further characteristics

A buckle/torus fracture of the distal fibular metaphysis is usually associated with a tibial fracture.

It is rare in isolation, typically occurs in young children, and heals rapidly.
